Android UI/UX (Re)Design Challenge Results

Taylor Ling announced results of his Android UI/UX (Re)Design Challenge. I had an honour to be par to of the judges of the  competition and I can say that selecting the winners wasn't easy. All entries were really good. The amount of design skill in the Android community is amazing. Good work all participants!

These designs clearly prove that Android holo design is not boring. Following the design guidelines doesn't mean that your app can't have individual style and branding. It does, however, mean that if you follow the guidelines your app is easy to understand. Take a second to just look at the designed screens without reading the attached documentation. I bet that you're able to figure out how the app is designed to work without any additional information. That is platform consistency without making everything look the same.

Head out to Taylor's blog to read more about the competition and links to each entry: http://androiduiux.com/2013/06/30/result-for-android-uiux-redesign-challenge/
